ENPI Foundation History

The English Proficiency Initiative Foundation was established in 2015 by Mrs. Judy Holt. 


Judy served as the Greater Texas Foundation's interim executive director and first CEO in 2006. Prior to that her service began in 1987 as the first employee with one of Greater Texas Foundation’s former subsidiary organizations. Since January 2007, Judy has acted as a consultant to the foundation primarily in the management of the foundation’s student loan portfolio.


Judy became a member of the Board of Directors in April 2009, and currently serves on the Finance & Investment and Strategy & Learning Committees.

Judy holds a bachelor’s degree in Education from Texas A&M University. She has worked with several civic organizations such as: The Prenatal Clinic, The Woman’s Club, the English Proficiency Initiative Foundation (ENPI), Junior League of Bryan College Station, Leadership Brazos, Voices for Children (CASA), and Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley. She is married to Larry Holt, and they have one son.


"The English Proficiency Initiative Foundation" is the first organization promoting the English language for work and educational proposes outside the States by founding student scholarships in Canada, México, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama


The foundation was incorporated as a Houston TX. Non-profit corporation on December 12, 2015 for federal tax purposes
